5981 Yu Lin is worried by Zhao Yufei’s appearance, his head is broken, his body is broken. He’s just lying there as if dead. She inwardly complains, everyday he plays the male conqueror of women, something was bound to happen eventually. It’s just unexpected how far the courage of this person carried them. She really does admire the courage of the murderer. However, on the surface, she anxiously pleads that Princess Consort Zhao stop crying. That catching the assailant and getting the best doctor in the Capital are most important.
Zhao pleads for the best doctor from the Empress Dowager, who then frowns and asks isn’t Zheng Fang Hai of the Imperial Hospital the best. Concubine Hui nods her head. Hui explains there’s only two left in the Palace and they’re difficult to ask, but they actually already went over to Zhao Palace to examine Zhao Yufei. Princess Consort Zhao then cries saying the Apothecaries said to prepare a funeral. The Empress is disgusted with Concubine Hui’s false display of moral behavior. Empress Dowager asks about the Apothecary Association’s four Imperial level Apothecaries. Hui answers all four are not in town. The Empress Dowager is mad that not a single one is available at a time like this.
It’s at this time the Empress thinks of someone. Normally she would not recommend this person, but she’s being forced to compete with Concubine Hui. Hui thinks for a moment, then tries to dismiss everything SL did as rumors.
Princess Consort Zhao turns her head and immediately shouts at Hui, “Because it’s not your son, you feel no sympathy? Your son is gone. You want my son to be gone as well, only then would there be balance in your heart?”
Hui is furious, every word from Zhao is like a sharp prick into her heart. Hui kneels and begs to the Empress Dowager that this isn’t so. Zhao calls her a hypocrite and goes back to crying by the Empress Dowager’s leg. Empress Dowager has an even bigger headache, each of her thighs are being grasped by a crying woman. The Empress is pleased to see the two women fight before the Empress Dowager. Empress Dowager can’t stand it and has the Empress help her dismiss them. The Empress is pleased with herself for mentioning SL and gives a contemptuous look to Hui as they leave.
Hui’s expression is the same but the veins on her face pulse. Princess Consort Zhao has a premonition upon seeing Hui’s face. She wonders if Hui will have her son, Zhao Yufei, accompany 7th Prince in death by killing SL. Princess Consort Zhao becomes worried and loudly declares that she will have Hui buried with her son if anything happens to SL.
Princess Consort Zhao quickly leaves to search for SL. Her first stop is the Longfeng Estate and she tries to get in contact with Lady Nangong. Princess Consort Zhao prides herself as an Imperial, but Lady Nangong is also a high and mighty person. They do not get along. When Lady Nangong sees Princess Consort Zhao charging into the Longfeng Estate with a group of people, she thinks Zhao is here for revenge!
5984 Lady Nangong and Princess Consort Zhao start talking about SL. They mostly posture, although Princess Consort Zhao learns SL is her future daughter in law. At the end, Lady Nangong says everything is up to SL and her mood. Lady Nangong wonders where is the girl, why haven’t I seen her? She goes to ask the doorkeeper. The doorkeeper panics, and when pressed, tells Lady Nangong that SL had returned but looked lost in thought. Lady Nangong is shocked and asks why they didn’t inform her. The gate guards look at each other, it seems they’ve judged wrongly in not telling her. Lady Nangong thinks that about how SL is always being bullied, this can’t be allowed! She asks where did SL go and is pointed in the general direction.
5985 Lady Nangong orders a search for SL. Princess Consort Zhao looks suspicious, but Lady Nangong says she’s not acting. Zhao has men from the Zhao King’s Estate take part in searching as well. Princess Consort Zhao is called back when she’s told her son’s condition has taken a turn for the worst. She nearly faints at the news.
SL is currently being pursued Yu Lin. She hasn’t recovered and the Qilin initial burst of energy has worn off. If they had time, they could recover, but the Qilin’s appearance is too distinctive and they are quickly pursued. Yu Lin orders them to stop and his archers loose arrows. The Qilin expands in size to use its body to protect SL. Its enormous size confirms to Yu Lin they have the right animal as witnesses reported this detail. Yu Lin orders more attacks and the Qilin starts to be seriously injured from all the arrows.
5986 The Qilin roars and the arrows piercing it’s body reverse and fly back! Yu Lin calls for his men to back off but many are still injured or killed. Nonetheless, Yu Lin smiles because he knows this means the beast is on its’ last legs. Sure enough, the Qilin stumbles and SL almost falls off. Yu Lin signals for his men to block off every direction. The only way to flee is to go underground or fly into the air. The Qilin actually can fly, but it no longer has enough strength to do so. The Qilin is incredibly frustrated. Only the first two seals are undone. If all nine were unsealed, this entire group would not be able to withstand one blow from it, humph!
Yu Lin orders the Qilin killed. The Qilin’s wounds from before are visibly healing. Everyone feels killing such a beast is a shame, but they obey because they fear letting it live and coming after them in revenge.
“I’d like to see who dares to kill it!” A cold voice from afar comes close.
SL slowly, weakly, opens her eyes. The familiar voice rouses her. It’s Leng7…
How unexpected, she thought it would be NL. SL raises an eyebrow while looking at Leng7. Leng7 moves like lightning. When SL blinks again, she finds herself in Leng7’s arms. Leng7 is instantly furious to see her injuries.
Leng7 locks eyes with Yu Lin, “All of you hurt her?”
His eyes carry the indifference of looking at dead men.
Leng7 presses Yu Lin for a bit. Yu Lin replies weakly before asking Leng7 not to embarrass him.
“And if I must embarrass you?” Leng7 sneers.
Yu Lin receives a message via jewel.
5987 Yu Lin relaxes after reading the message. It clearly states at Leng7 is no longer the successor to the Leng’s. Without the Leng Clan supporting him, he’s just a powerful teenager. Yu Lin is not weak, dealing with Leng7 will not be a problem.
Yu Lin changes attitudes and starts to press back. Leng7 sneers, understanding instantly what Yu Lin must’ve read from his jewel. They repeat their earlier exchange on embarrassment.
Yu Lin still tries to talk Leng7 down. Leng7 is no longer the successor now, but that doesn’t mean he’ll never again be the successor. Yu Lin orders she be captured. Leng7 says he’ll have to arrest him as well. Yu Lin is visibly surprised, but inwardly pleased. This is an admission of weakness on Leng7’s part. Yu Lin frowns and says that’s not right.
Leng7 slowly walks forward asking, “You really won’t arrest me?”
Yu Lin says Leng7 has done nothing wrong so he cannot arrest him. He says this with great arrogance and momentum.
Leng7 slaps Yu Lin, stunning him, “Is that enough?”
“What?” Yu Lin responds blankly, still not quite able to react.
5988 “Looks like it’s not enough.” Leng7 backhands Yu Lin, “Mm? Is that enough now?”
Yu Lin recovers, “Leng Yun Jin, you dare!” and points at Leng7.
“Is it enough?” Leng7 unscrupulously slaps him again.
Yu Lin glares at Leng7 with bloodshot eyes. When Leng7 raises his hand again, Yu Lin quickly yells, “Enough!”
Under Leng7’s indifferent gaze, Yu Lin angrily raises a hand and orders that Leng7 be arrested. Yu Lin doesn’t dare raise a hand against Leng7. The Leng Clan is the Empress’s family. Leng7 is the Empress’s favorite nephew. Just because Leng7 is no longer the Clan successor doesn’t mean he has no future. So, Yu Lin takes a deep breath and shoves his hate down.
Leng7 indifferently walks past and pats the Qilin. The beast understands his meaning and shrinks its body. Leng7 gently takes SL down, not allowing any of Yu Lin’s men to touch her. SL is very weak. She looks at Leng7 for a moment, then slowly lets her head hang down. No one notices that her hands are tightly clenched, hidden by her sleeves.

Leng7 takes SL towards prison. Someone finally notices it’s SL and they start to realize who she is. They start to speculate as to why Leng7 is here instead of NL.
Yu Lin’s face grows dark. He thought she was some normal girl of no background, but it turns out her backing is incredible. Not only is she able to get the cold indifferent Leng7 to act so impulsively, she also has NL…
Yu Lin decides he needs to make things clear. He takes up his communication jewel and after going through several others, is eventually able to reach NL’s communication jewel. To his surprise, it isn’t NL that answers, but a woman.
“Nangong 2nd Young Master isn’t available, may I ask what business you have?”
If SL heard this she would’ve recognized the voice. Yu Lin goes blank for a moment. A woman answered? An unfamiliar woman? Communication jewels are such incredibly important devices, how could you allow anyone to casually pick it up? A man of such power and position will be of careful and thorough thought and behavior. What’s going on?
“You are?” To be safe, Yu Lin asks.
Light laughter can be heard on the other end, “Who I am is not important. What’s important is that Nangong 2nd Young Master’s communication jewel is in my hands. What’s your business, I can convey it to him.”
5989 Sensing Yu Lin’s hesitation, the other party smiles brilliantly, “You can see me as 2nd Young Master’s assistant, we have a very good relationship. Alright, if you’re not going to say, I’m hanging up then.”

The other party answers with a shy smile, “Aiya, what did you say? How annoying! Can something like this be discussed casually? Things haven’t been decided yet. If it doesn’t go through, wouldn’t everyone laugh at me? Aiya, the shame. I’m not telling you…”
Yu Lin doesn’t feel well. He didn’t even ask yet and the girl impatiently tells him everything. He asks her what to do about SL.
The girl’s originally clear as a bell voice becomes fierce, “Su Luo killed Zhao Yufei, what should be done should be done. Don’t you know how to carry out official business in an official position? Do I need to teach you?!”
Yu Lin bitterly smiles but thinks her attitude is correct because she has NL’s backing and must have a family’s backing as well. Still, this makes things easier for Yu Lin. NL now knows and won’t care. He puts away the jewel and sneers at Leng7 who’s holding SL’s back.
SL and Leng7 are placed in prison. Yu Lin really didn’t want to put Leng7 in prison, but Leng7 ignored him and went straight in with SL. Fine, go to prison then. Yu Lin has lots of things to do. Since he needs to report to Princess Consort Zhao they’ve caught the murderer, he goes to clean himself first.
That leaves the prison warden to face Leng7. The prison warden fears Leng7. Whatever Leng7 wants, he gets. The entire prison is running in circles for Leng7. It’s as if Leng7’s not been imprisoned, but come for an inspection.
5990 SL is lying on a soft cotton quilt. Leng7 is constantly feeding her spirit power. No dares come near.
Outside, the people looking for SL are going crazy because Zhao Yufei really is dying. Apothecary Fang Hai helplessly examines Yufei’s constant convulsions and pale bloodless face. Before any of them can ask, Lady Nangong starts shouting at Yu Lin*, saying how courageous of him to arrest our family’s Luo Luo, that she’ll have his dog eyes blinded, before fiercely kicking him and rushing away. All the people with Zi Yi glare at Yu Lin as they drag him away, leaving with Lady Nangong. They came and left, just as suddenly as a gust of wind.
Princess Consort Zhao finally reacts and grabs officer Wang by the collar, asking who they arrested.
Officer Wang answers confused, “Su Luo…”
Princess Consort Zhao finally realizes why they couldn’t find SL, she was in prison. Princess Consort Zhao asks if they injured SL. Wang nods and answers her entire body is injured, she seems to be dying. Princess Consort Zhao orders they quickly abduct that person. Wang is really confused, weren’t we supposed to kill SL, now we’re abducting someone, who? SL?
Princess ConsortZhao angrily explains herself, haven’t they injured SL? Can’t they see how furious Lady Nangong is? Will she allow SL to heal her son now? Are you stupid? Why haven’t you left already!
Wang has a headache.
* Lady Nangong starts calling Yu Lin, Wang Yanchen. The author starts calling him Wang mid way through the chapter. It’s very confusing. I may have confused who’s talking to whom.
5991 But seeing Princess Consort Zhao’s face, Wang quickly leaves. His men ask him what they’re going to do. Wang wants to cry, when did it get so complicated? SL hurt Zhao Yufei, but now only SL can save Zhao Yufei. Wang is speechless. What should he do? All he can do now is keep Lady Nangong from taking SL away, but is that possible?
When Wang arrives, he finds that the prison is a mess. The wounded are lying everywhere, crying loudly. There’s obviously been a fight. Seeing the jailers lying on the ground, it’s clear who the loser was. Wang shouts at the jailers and asks about SL. He learns Lady Nangong broke SL out of prison, the people she brought were too strong.

Wang marches forward only to find no one is following him. When he turns to meet their eyes, his men all retreat backwards. He demands they follow. They step back further. He’s so angry at his men, he can barely speak, but he understands. His men are afraid of the Longfeng Clan, the Nangong family! His men weakly caution him about this action. How can he rely on force against the Longfeng Clan to take someone back? Wang is silent, he really doesn’t have a way to do this. Once the Longfeng have taken someone, he cannot snatch them back by force.
Wang coldly humphs and says they have to go anyways. It’s not that he’s willing to die for the Zhao King’s Estate, but he understands he must at least make the trip and offer a clear explanation to Princess Consort Zhao.

The Empress Dowager has already thought of a hundred ways to fix this SL. Princess Consort Zhao is a little more reasonable and says it was the Longfeng that did the prison break. This causes the Empress Dowager to pause.

So the white fox changed her target. To have made the white fox so excited, in the entire Capital, outside of NL and Leng7, who else can it be? It’s unknown if NL’s luck is good or bad this time, but he was the one who encountered the white fox. For the white fox to reach human form, it must be at Lesser God realm.
NL is leading a team into the mountains for the military. NL wants to accompany SL to the lower worlds in a few months so he’s been very busy. After all, how do you compress a few decades of work into a few months? How could he not be busy? The myriad mountains are his last task, once finished, he can go back to SL.
However, this time, things went wrong. While NL was tracking his objective, his subordinates started going missing one by one in unexplained ways. This made things harder for him. He was forced to give up his objective and track down his men. While investigating, he encountered the white fox. The white fox took NL’s men away to attract his attention. She succeeded. They’re both at lesser god realm. When magic beasts and humans are at the same level, magic beasts are stronger than humans. So when NL met this white fox, he almost ate a loss.
5994 But NL is worthy of being NL. He very quickly broke the dilemma the white fox set for him. Back when SL called his communication jewel, it was when NL was facing the white fox. That’s why he hung up on her, he didn’t want to expose SL to the white fox. SL is his only weakness. Meanwhile, while rescuing his men, NL lost his communication jewel by accident. NL wasn’t too worried, unless the jewel is yours, you can’t use it.

This entire time, the white fox has been following NL to obstruct him, hoping to gain his attention. The white fox is agile, and every time it sees a patrol, it would flee. The myriad mountains are its home and it can come and go where it pleases, with NL unable to catch her. In the beginning, NL’s main focus was his mission, he didn’t really mind too much the white fox’s interference. But while tracking the white fox, he discovered its secret.
The white fox has a unique blood, the Eight Wastelands Dark Blood! One drink of this blood is enough to make a person’s body breakthrough. NL knows SL has a special type of blood, but that bloodline’s recovery speed is too slow. If he can get the white fox’s blood for SL to drink, then her bloodline should recover more quickly. When learning of this, NL put aside the myriad mountains mission and concentrated on chasing the white fox.
Because of its unusual blood, the white fox uses powers NL is unfamiliar with, but NL is NL. He quickly gains the upper hand.
The white dressed fox is nibbling on two grilled fish and browsing NL’s communication jewel, when NL suddenly appears before her. The white fox throws the fish away and tries to run, but finds the earth all around her cracked open, she has nowhere to run. Only the ground she and NL stand on is flat, everywhere else is like mud. The white fox understands NL has plotted against her.
“You wanted to catch me that much?” The white fox smiles at NL, her eyes like stars.
NL walks towards her.
“Hey, why are you chasing me? Is it because you like me so much?” She shyly smiles.
NL is now standing before the white fox.
“Well, since you like me so much, then I’ll go with you~” She shyly clutches his hand.
She wants to know which is more interesting, being Queen of the myriad mountains, or being the wife of the Nangong 2nd Young Master. Even if she cultivated for a million years she would not meet another such man. She must hold onto him! She’s confident in her appearance and does not believe there’s another woman in the world that surpasses her. She uses her greatest ability against NL, Charm All Living Beings!
