I cannot read Chinese so these are all done with machine translation such as with Google or Bing. Some knowledge of titles or ranks used in Palaces or Harems helps since these MTL’s do not do well with them. I learned them from reading translations on Dreams of Jianghu and other sites. I have no resources for idioms. I can only hope the writer uses commonly used ones, and for the most part she does.
